Spent the morning clearing up the house and preparing the f&b for the nite. ended up just cooking the rosti and chilling some drinks and making loads of ice.

For dinner,
we had rosti, mango pudding / lychee / longan dessert, loads of junk food, including doughnuts, chips, prawn crackers, etc etc.

after some chit chat, we started gaming, and the competitive side of everyone came out, though it was friendly trash talking and mutual suan-ing.
t’was good clean fun.

am pretty wiped out from the cleaning up though.
hmmm.
oh yeah , the new battery is here, and ITS ROCKING.
i.e. it really is brand new and unused.

battery cycles = 1 first use june 2008, today.
excellent! and at a great price too. =)

I am a happy man.

spent the day in school doing up slides for a sharing session.
had pizza, did the slides.
blah blah blah.
went back home, knocked out, and woke up abt 8 plus.
spent a couple of hours fiddling with the Wii. there were some technical problems due to a firmware upgrade from OKAMI. so it messed things up. real bad.
but its more or less ok at this point in time, just that certain games are not working.

I noticed the difference between the DVD+R and DVD-R discs. the Wii definitely had difficulty reading the dvd+r discs, as it makes a hell of a lot of clicking noises. dammit. should have burnt them all on the -Rs. unfortunately, i deleted most of the ISOs after burning them back then, due to space constraints.

by the time i settled everything it was 5 am, and i knocked out yet again after 5.30 (i know this cuz my HP’s alarm went off while i was trying to sleep. bah.) and slept a total of 4 hours. woke at 9 plus, and had a throbbing headache.

ah well. maybe i’ll just sleep it off in a bit.

the BB.com package has arrived. now its just the batteries.

’twas a short lazy day.
spent most of the day sleeping and watching old movies.
the fever didn’t help of course.
but it was a good rest i guess.

hmm. spaceballs is the epitome of crass humour, mocking every single movie made up to that point in time(circa 1987). i just love all the inside jokes, low blows and just plain silliness of it all.

it was a fat gluttonous day as well. had fried fish and fries for lunch, and the left overs for dinner. OMG. damn sinful. really. ARGH.

the eyes are doing well. still a bit dry from time to time, but much better than before.

The braun shaver arrived. safe and sound. best deal i’ve had in a long time.
and guess who’s clean shaven again? ME. i missed my old braun shaver for the longest time since it conked out. and thus, the reason for the scruffy look.

the STP package arrived as well.
got my 60L backpack, ready for any overseas trip!

my PFD (cuz of some new ruling coming up. This is a USCG approved model, and should exceed any local specs.)

and some smartwool socks(extremely comfy!). not to mention my Sugoi and Zoot visors. heh.

I’m a happy man.

Now i’m just waiting for the batteries and the BB.com package.

I’ve just been outbid on a replacement battery for my R60 at the very last second. as in literally the very last second. i woke up early to monitor the auction, only to be outbid at the last minute. BAH! that’s the problem with buying stuff from US sellers. the ending time is always at those weird weird times.

Anyway. Vpost will be shipping my items over soon, and STP just shipped my order as well, so all my purchases will be coming in by next thursday i think, which will be very nice.

The only problem with buying from online stores is that you do not have the instant gratification of having the item in your hand immediately to fiddle around with, to play with and enjoy. but in return you get to enjoy LOTS of savings. i guess it does make sense in its own twisted way.

Its kinda interesting really. An old hat at auctioning, groggy with lack of sleep, engages in careless bidding… and that was the cause of my failing to win the auction. IF I had been more alert / patient, i would have won the battery, at a much lower price.

but then again, such is life, and i shouldn’t complain, life is good. onward ho! to much more Ebay trawling for deals on lenovo batteries!
