the past few days

so the last update was last wed.
its now monday.
I must declare that i LOVE my thursday and friday schedules. hahaha. extremely short days. =) good for workouts too!

so what has been happening ?

On thursday afternoon, i wen to hunt down my sandals and shoes at queensway. spent quite a bit unfortunately. and the most dui part was seeing the same sandals on sale at a better price at WOS on the way home after buying it.

Friday afternoon was spent on the SL PRW stuff. the costume is ready! and it looks pretty good too. =) the poster went up too. nice.
we had the director’s welcome after that, and it was LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGG

spent saturday cleaning up the room, dinner @ the Ghim Moh place, coffee at coffeebean and chat till 2 am , hunt in coldstorage for food after 2 am.
haha.

sunday
it was spent coaching in the morning, shopping at suntec, got some tops, met my OGL, and went to istana to gai gai after looking at soccer boots.
it was very nice! its been years since i last went into the istana, and it was really beautiful. should go again when its open to the public.

after that headed to peninsula to grab the boots, and then to funan to hunt down my Philips ipod dock, which is now residing in 3-1-50. hah. bummed at the museum, and caught the night display there. pretty kickass! chatted till 10 plus, and headed back home.

TB was away, so the morning lesson was called off. woke up late, went to the hall to clean it up a bit , then i hit the gym, had lunch with some pple and the had my el lessons. the tutor is getting funnier and funnier every day. i am really enjoying my EL lessons.

managed to get my ergo down to 7.37 for 2km w/ 27spm (a tad too fast).
gonna push it lower soon(hopefully). target is 7.10 with 25 spm. then to build on consistency.

Onward ho! its a new week, and i’m moving into my hall starting tomorrow.

a long overdue update

So its been a while. yet again. sigh.
yeah…. so here we are. 2 weeks on.
i went back to the school to get some stuff, and was glad to see some of my ex students back in school again, and not getting themselves in trouble. heh.

It was a week of briefings and rubbish teambuilding activities. in that the vendor really did a shitty job. not only that, one of their staff sent my colleague with sexually suggestive messages, all the while pretending that he didn’t know who he was sms-ing how freaking unprofessional can they be. camp high achievers indeed. pui. i wouldn’t want my kids to be taken by such an ass.

the sl project is progressing quite well i guess. at least the PRW part of it. am gonna be walking down the runway. good lord. the other part of it seems rather dodgy, and i’m not too sure how it’ll turn out, though i think it’ll be fine.

yeah but before i get ahead of myself, back to the FOC. yeah. it was fun. it was really shiok to feel the whole body aching all over and playing sports and games all day long. some of the younger dudes need to control their aggression, but hey, they’re young, testosterone levels high. ok lor. not much of an excuse, but hey at least there is one. but remember. be gentlemanly.

took a morning off for the JI race. the lilies got a silver. tactical error on my part. sigh. could have been gold. but me lah. felt freaking lousy after that, cuz its been their race for years, and could have been theirs yet again.

school this week has been pretty sweet. the lecturers are pretty cool, and i really do enjoy the lessons, though the readings seem pretty extensive. argh. Just praying that i won’t get anymore freak injuries, especially my bloody ankle.

its been great to be able to hit the gym on an almost daily basis, and i’ve managed to establish a routine of doing 3 X 2km sets on the Concetp2 Ergo, and the timings have been improving. hope to get even better in time. wanna make a solid comeback. i miss being this active man. and its really really fantastic to be able to be back in the fold yet again.

the only complaint so far is that the timetable is pretty shit. in that some lecturers jsut do not link up with the system all that well. but screw it man. i will survive.
I also got a room in hall2-Blk3-1-50. feel free to pop by starting next week.

has it already been 12 days ?

seems like when school started, i just didn’t blog much.
hmmm.
well, here we are, 12 days later. its been busy, kinda. enjoyed working out, almost every damn day. can really feel my fitness increasing, and it feels good!

well, my last day in the school has passed, and i’m out of my comfort zone yet again. i’m strangely excited, yet kinda worried. will i adapt fast enough ? can i get my ass back into student mode, and enjoy myself?

but clearing out my stuff from the cabinets and all made me feel nostalgic. its been just 1 year, but i was so comfortable where i was, so happy doing my job. i was insane. so many memories, so many freak injuries, so many friendships made.

the clashes of personality, the different ways of dealing with situations, the fact that no 2 days are the same. I LOVE it.

looking back, i realise that i truly love my kids. all the nonsense they gave me, the crap we all went through, the things i had to do. well. I’m gonna miss that. for the next 2 years.

My form class. i only see them during life skills and reflection period, but most of them time i’m either scolding them or entertaining them, and the promise they made to me. they say that i am their favorite teacher. boggles the mind. but hey. i’m not complaining.

I’m just praying that they will remain as sweet as they are now, to be the best students they can be. to achieve more than what they think they can now.. they have had a rough start in the school, but i believe that they will be a great bunch. please my beloved 1T2, stay the same, even if you go on to the NA classes or even the exp classes. I love all of you. Please don’t let me down.

and i will keep these ok? i promised not to throw them away. hah.

Work this week was ok. relief as usual. I truly love PE sessions with the sec 1s. since its been a week i’ll just put up the highlights of each day.

Wed:
PE was fun. EL with that one class was quite shag but heck. I am already conditioned.

No Gym. too many people inside, doing team training.
prepared some lessons.

Thursday:
Gym and Run.
Chins, Dips, bench. tore a callus off my right palm.
ran to SDC and back.
Dinner @ Crystal Jade.
Belated bday celebration for SLS. had the pork rib la mian, the usual XLB and ice cream cake from swenson’s.

Drinks @ 2am.
tried duvel. life changing beer. it really is.

Friday:
Students Kayaking at Changi. Had to go in early. took them to the Agency’s campsite. watched them kayak, helped them out when they capsized and had to talk to / encourage those who were crying / almost gave up. got soaked as well, but was glad to see the usual troublemakers being well behaved.

Dinner @ Shokudo
talk about irony. i went to a jap restaurant, and ended up eating western style food. hah.

feeling heavy from the excessive deserts in 2 days, i just had the dark chocolate drink.

Sat:
Session with TL. Good to have, cuz it realigned their goals, correct their strokes, and basically to ease them back into training.

After an hour with them, i headed to the admin building for the rec. instructor course. honestly, did not learn anything new, but it was interesting i guess. you get to see how much they have progressed in the last few months.

Theory was kinda erps. lunch at kopitiam, practical soon after in the drizzle and rain.

Headed back home, had some meesuah from shihlin street snacks. and knock out soon after.

Sunday:
part 2 of the course, had the practical assessment, and seems ok. just damn tired from non stop paddling for a few hours.
lunch at suntec and it was back home.
catching up with fight quest. interesting, similar to the human weapon series but they seem more ghetto, i dunno man. but it is definitely interesting.

My lower back hurts like hell, but i think it’ll go away after some sleep.





Brusque Updates

Friday.
Lessons – none.
Meetings – long. bleah.
Gym – trained chins, dips, seated rows, bench.
Dinner – T’was good. The Italian place at Ghim Moh.

Sat:
–E–C–G– got knocked out. good lord. they got knocked out. Disappointment could barely describe the feeling. it was more of bitterness. i felt angry, disappointed, cheated. i put in so much effort to improve the team, to bring up the water fitness, to teach them the basic and advanced techniques. they just don’t apply it.

They chose to up the training sessions, they don’t show up. How am i supposed to feel. i put in the hours and days to plan the schedule but due to poor attendance, i have to create a new program on the fly. its sickening. its tiring. i feel like i need a break from them. they’re killing my passion for coaching.

Alumni qualified for all the finals. Nice.

Sun:
The main team did it. congrats. you did it for bahgeh, you did it for yourselves, and you did it for us, the alumni. it was exciting, it was exhilarating, it was breathtaking. well done guy. well done. I’m fucking proud of you guys.

TL got knocked out. depressing. and they were in a position where they could excel. sigh.
they have taken the longest break i’ve ever seen in the past few years. building up the basic fitness was a priority. to that end i think we have achieved it.

Water technique. gotta focus on the newbies. to get them to gel into the unit. lost one of the gals due to change of job, which is kinda sad. sigh. 3 more weeks to the big race JI. the must win. i am confused. i want them to win. and the urgency just hit me. i have 3 weeks to prep them for a short distance race.

the next thing is the change in lineup in the finals. argh. priority race or not, with the stronger team, it would have given us a more positive experience, to let us podium. dammit. but i guess the positive part of it was that the newbies got some race experience.

I want the JI gold. i MUST get the JI gold. god i’m sick of my teams getting second place. they deserve to be up there with the gold. it will come back. IT WILL.

Monday:

Tuesday:
woke up, blurry vision, went to work. lessons. took over DK’s slots, and 6 periods of PE is quite shag. really is. but i like it. feels good. though none of the classes were as good as 1A4.
same thing tmr. hopefully it will be better.

Meeting. OMG. what a meeting. i felt depressed and stoney while sitting there. but i guess there was some productivity going on. ah well. that’s life i guess.

back at home, watching last comic standing. just to chill the fuck out.
Registered for the coaching cert. driving’s next, followed by golf.





New equipment

I think I’m gonna get a trivium paddle soon.
finally after a year of procrastination, lusting after and wanting it. i might be able to get one.
but its so freaking expensive. good lord. it is expensive.
but oh so pretty.





What a day

Did 1 period of mass PE and 6 periods of relief for PE as well.
total time on pe activities. 4 hours++.
during that time i did all these with them :
200 pushups,
200 Jumping Jacks,
200 Squats,
100 burpees.
Ran 3.2km.
All in the lovely sun. and constantly projecting and giving instructions.

No wonder i felt like puking while i was in the gym after school.
good lord. i didn’t have the strength to do chinups or dips, even my bench was weaker. OMG.
ended up doing the following in the gym:
5 sets of chinups to failure.
Bench X 4 sets
Shoulder press X 4 sets
Planks LRC X 2 sets
Shrugs X 1 set
seated row X 3 sets

really felt light headed and nauseous. Note to self. eat before hitting the gym.
but on reflection. I LOVE 1A4. such a lovely class. So positive, so cooperative,and really a class that i think will win over ALOT of staff. Please stay lovable. please please please.

headed to Ghim moh for some italian before heading home. shiok man. hard earned meal. heh.

Today was another of those days. i feel… urgh. i like being busy, i want to be busy. damn it. argh.
spent a period with 2t1, one with 3t3, and another 2 relieving the sec 3NA malay students. Then it was 2 periods of lifeskills with my 1t2.

After a tea / honey water break with the new staff, i hit the gym, and did some conditioning.
Chinups
Dips
lats pull down
seated row
lunges
resistance tubing

aching but its a good ache. its been a while since i had such a workout. just need to do more cardio conditioning.

Had dinner and watching Romeo and juliet right now. hahahah. the old old one from the early 90s. updated with guns and cars and other modern day facilities.
